[identity profile] issaro.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sgarecfinders
There are so many great marriage rec lists and tagged entries out there that I'm getting kind of swamped trying to find what I'm looking for - hopefully, you wonderful people can help me sort through it to find what I'm craving.

I'm looking for married life fics. Specifically, I'm dying to read those fics that deal with what happens after John and Rodney commit to each other. I want the life that comes after, the stories of how they live together happily ever after (arguing all the way). Basically, I want to wallow in the day to day life of Rodney and John, post "will they/won't they" drama.

I don't mind kid!fic. I don't care if it's an AU (with our without the stargate). I don't even care if they're legally married or just living happily in sin. And, I certainly don't want to discount those stories that have some of the work up to married life (prequel or not), as long as the bulk of the story is them living together. Hell, I'll even go with RPS or threesomes/moresomes, if you know of any. I just want to skip the whole - boy meets boy, boy loses boy, boy makes up with boy, boy marries boy - and jump straight into them, together, living their lives.

Some epic examples would be fics like Farm in Iowa or the Nantucket AU or A Beautiful Lifetime Event but don't let that narrow the search. Go wild!

I'm hoping you guys are going to rock this one =) Thank you so much!!

As I recall "What Might Might Have Been" series by Keira Marcos has them living together and then marrying, I remember a lot of domestic moments. I love this series and heartily recommend it.

Thank you so much for thinking of my stories - that's really kind!
Plus there are so many great recs that I now want to go & read. :-)

Abject apologies....

Aw man.... Sorry about that, I had it tagged for mpreg in my bookmarks, figuring I'd remember if there was an incubator involved - it was before I started differentiating between actual carrying & those "wacky Ancient gestation devices." (And they're mostly unlabeled, too - or obscure *Notation regarding Gestational Device: Smudge surface for best results.* - which is even more wacky! Those Ancients...you would think they wanted to give that element of surprise to expecting parents, who would never suspect such a miracle to ever happen to them.) *grins* We see how well that worked.

Unfortunately, I don't have the capability to go back and edit my comments, so hopefully this will suffice....

EDIT TO ABOVE LIST OF RECS (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/562271.html?thread=3918431#t3918431):

There is NO MPREG in "Make A Wish" (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=14553) by [livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star - child is born via Ancient gestational device.

Oh, no - please don't worry. I just thought I'd mention it. I can understand the confusion as they do have a son - Henry - it's just that neither of them was pregnant with him. :-)
LOL Those 'wacky Ancient gestation devices', eh? Gotta love 'em! ;-)

Thanks for adding the clarification - I really appreciate it!

I love Telesilla's Ventura Highway AU. They'Re not married, but they are very much together.

Also porntestpilot's Jump to the Left series, which has many stories and even has the wedding.

I have a series ongoing called War Stories, with an AU McKay and Sheppard who have two kids.

... um. Let me know if you have squicks like deathfic or infidelity or old age?

Well, there's The Raising Madison Series, by [livejournal.com profile] mrshamill, which I love. You'll need to scroll down the page and they're on the left hand side - a whole bunch of stories. Also, The Neighborly Detective and the Tragic Woobie Widower, by [livejournal.com profile] elayna88. You have to scroll down about half way, and there is the main story and four sequels. Lovely stuff. :)
