I just finished watching The Proposal. The plotline/characters are so incredibly similar to McShep that I'll be shocked if no one's written a fic for it yet.

I love reading...and read a lot.

I've got bookmarks spread through several different venues, and unfortunately I just lost the one, so I've been doing a 'search & rescue' so-to-speak & putting recovered bookmarks in my 'holding tank' until I can tag them properly.

And if I'm lucky, I think I might be able to track down one more for this particular request. *crosses fingers*

This a great story where dumb (John) and Dumber (Rodney) "Get Married" after they both leave Atlantis. Rodney wants a job but the firm think Rodney needs to be more SETTLED so Rodney asks John to "marry" him.

Definitely not a Green Card issue, but will "family curse" do in a pinch? If so, then check out "Playing With Matches" (http://elizayabanci.livejournal.com/1066.html) by elizayabanci -- it is AU.


There's more if you don't mind the marriages/joinings brought about because the 'Aliens Made Them Do It' / 'Traditions/Rituals to be followed are a requirement to beginning/sealing-the-deal on trade agreements.' Of course, some of this kinda steers a bit left of what you're looking for - and all pretty much pre-date "The Proposal."
