Rodney gets fed up stories
Oct. 28th, 2009 09:05 amThere is a scene in Lifeline (SGA S04 E02)
(I am assuming this is a spoiler so I’m going to attempt to hide the text, but I’m also notoriously bad at it so please forgive me and delete this post if I screw up)
McKay: Its encompassed the core room you’re good to go.
Weir: (nods)
McKay: What, you don’t believe me, but you believe her?
Sheppard: No, offence.
McKay: Offence taken.
I was just wondering if any of you know of any stories based around that or any of the other times Rodney gets slapped in the face regardless of how good a job he’s done.
I’ve read quite a few Lifeline and Aurora stories already, but most of them don’t address the really hurtful words John says to Rodney, and I want one where Rodney just gets tired of it. I would really like a happy ending, but more than that, I really think Rodney just needs to kick some %$#. So if there are any stories that come to mind with that theme, I would love them, THANK YOU.

Date: 2009-10-28 07:03 pm (UTC)I LOVE John/Rodney, but seriously John is a PRICK to Rodney a lot! I literally threw my pillow at the TV during Reunion (S04 E03) when John gives Cater that fruit basket. Bastard!

Date: 2009-10-28 09:38 pm (UTC)John comes to get him and ends up staying. They go back eventually. It is on wraithbait I think but I've no idea of the name.
I also found a few stories similar to what you want on what I called the lemon trope list (in my head) that I picked up somewhere (maybe here) but I've lost the link. Somebody had put togethet a great list of post trinity?? or Doranda?? fics and she rated them by the number of times lemon was served in the mess or Rodney ran away to China. Her descriptions of the stories were worth a read all by themselves. Maybe somebody else knows what I am rabbiting on about.

Date: 2009-10-28 10:08 pm (UTC)But that is more of Rodney's angst and disillusionment, and I was hoping for Rodney kicking some ass. My dad is a an electrical engineer and he always says: "Never f%@! with the man that can f%!# with your computer." And something along those lines is what I'm hoping for.
What actually spurred the request was Instructional by Jenn (please forgive me, but I'm not sure how to make that link) http://seperis.illuminatedtext.com/sga/instructional.html
Where Rodney (and the rest of the science staff) takes on all the incoming personnel, but I'd really like to see him fight back against John and the rest of the senior staff. If that makes any sense. Sorry for rambling.
