There is a scene in Lifeline (SGA S04 E02)
(I am assuming this is a spoiler so I’m going to attempt to hide the text, but I’m also notoriously bad at it so please forgive me and delete this post if I screw up)

McKay: Its encompassed the core room you’re good to go.
Weir: (nods)
McKay: What, you don’t believe me, but you believe her?
Sheppard: No, offence.
McKay: Offence taken.
I was just wondering if any of you know of any stories based around that or any of the other times Rodney gets slapped in the face regardless of how good a job he’s done.
I’ve read quite a few Lifeline and Aurora stories already, but most of them don’t address the really hurtful words John says to Rodney, and I want one where Rodney just gets tired of it.  I would really like a happy ending, but more than that, I really think Rodney just needs to kick some %$#.  So if there are any stories that come to mind with that theme, I would love them, THANK YOU.

There is a great story where Rodney resigns and is all ready to leave when John appears in the gateroom with this HUGE written apology where he lists all the times that McKay saved their asses. For the life of me I can't remember what it was called. Great story though. Excellent request. I like it when Rodney just "snaps".

I'm pretty sure it's a Post-Aurora fic but that isn't helpiing my Google-Fu at all.

Yes. I remmeber being SO satisfied by that read because John was such a PRICK in that episode.

I think that's why I don't write canon!John all that much. I just think he's badly written but then they give up an episode like The Shrine and you sort of forget that his PRICK gene is activated.

And hey - what about The Storm - where Rodney say's "I'm not Superman"... and Weir and Sheppard both agree they never thought that... the end to that ep made me soo mad. Great request - I'd love to read anything anybody remembers - I'm in the mood to see Rodney not put up with that crap any longer...

There's an element of fed-up-ness in No Good Deed (http://blackchaps.dreamwidth.org/285627.html). I have this marked as McKay/Sheppard. My summary from Delicious: 18k. Rodney makes a plan to right one of his many, many wrongs ... but it goes a little askew because he can't shake having a babysitter. Rodney's a little broken here and more than a little fed up with friends who laugh at him, but at least he fixes something important.

out there somewhere

There is a series out there where Rodney goes back to earth and teaches.
John comes to get him and ends up staying. They go back eventually. It is on wraithbait I think but I've no idea of the name.

I also found a few stories similar to what you want on what I called the lemon trope list (in my head) that I picked up somewhere (maybe here) but I've lost the link. Somebody had put togethet a great list of post trinity?? or Doranda?? fics and she rated them by the number of times lemon was served in the mess or Rodney ran away to China. Her descriptions of the stories were worth a read all by themselves. Maybe somebody else knows what I am rabbiting on about.

Having noticed you liked "Instructional" by Jenn, did you happen to read the companion fic (well, actually, a remix, but...) to that where Rodney takes down John?? It's called "Pedagogically Sound (http://remix.illuminatedtext.com/dbfiction.php?fiction_id=487)" by [livejournal.com profile] arysteia.

Would you be interested in a post-Trinty story? I'd have to try and find it, but there is an awesome part in the story where Rodney gets fed up, reems them a new one, and calls them all on their bull.

I'm glad that you liked it. That rant he gave tore at my heart. All of it was so bitter, and true, and it felt like my heart had been ripped from my chest and stomped on a few times. Aren't stories like that great!?
