Rodney learns his lesson?

I've got a craving for stories where Rodney's flaws get the better of him, but he redeems himself by the end. Maybe he does something stupid offworld, maybe he says something thoughtless, maybe an Ancient device shows him the light, maybe he's just his usual insensitive self; but he realizes that he's in the wrong and tries to make up for it.

I am NOT looking for stories where Rodney is unfairly persecuted and gives in- I want to see character growth, not just whump. I'm also not interested in Trinity tags (though Tao of Rodney tags would be excellent). McShep or Rodney/Radek would be preferable, but I'll take anything.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for but rheanna27's Rewind, Reboot, Restore (http://www.goldenmaze.com/rewind.htm) has a Rodney's hubris element with a twist.

It does fit your want of character growth without gratuitous whump, an Ancient device, stupid offworld and insensitive behavior and McKay/Sheppard.
