When Im bored or doing a mundane task, I often put on some music and replay a story that I read or made up. What Im looking for are stories where a song or songs are part of the story. Not Rodney playing the piano but something like Rodney and Radek in the lab jamming and dancing around to Calling Doctor Love while John looks around the corner.(I so need to write that one). Mcshep preferred and Im cool with any kink. Thank You, I appreciate it.

Nepenthe's Kiss (http://www.lupous.net/sga/nepenthe.htm) by [livejournal.com profile] greyias. Gen; loopy. Not quite so much "whistle while you work" as your writeup implies, but similar, and much fun.

A pleasure! I probably should have mentioned these two as well, though they fit less well; both are gen:
Songs of Athos (http://friendshipper.livejournal.com/77693.html): Teyla considers what music is to the Earthers.
Necessary Things (http://minnow1212.livejournal.com/204661.html): The lab staff are being driven mad, having lost their music collections to the need to archive Ancient data before the siege, facing weeks before the Daedalus will bring more, having only Vivaldi left to listen to ... and knowing Kavanagh has an iPod full of good music that he won't share.

You need, need, need Mr. Karaoke, by Kormantic. Karaoke Rodney, and I won't even tell you what song he does. http://kormantic.livejournal.com/194697.html.

I had never heard of Trooper or Liz Phair. DH mentioned in an interview that the first thing he wanted to teach Baz was an appreciation for ABBA. You gotta give a guy points for admitting that in public.

About Trooper, the less said the better, eh? (though the video of that song on YouTube is worth a watch). But that Liz Phair song is an iPod staple now!
