I just noticed that John Carpenter's The Thing is getting a limited cinema re-release, and I immediately flashed on the whole 'Antarctica! Helicopters! Aliens!' thing - that, coupled with Kurt Russell, made me realise it was ripe for an SGA remake - surely there must be a SGA/Thing crossover/fusion/au fic somewhere?

Blizzards, paranoia, John Sheppard with a flamethrower...

Honestly, I'll be happy just to have 'John Sheppard with a flamethrower'. Or some serious facial hair to keep him warm.

I have a craving. Which, in the context of 'The Thing', is a little disturbing...

I read somewhere that they are making a prequel......I would so love to
see Joe throw his hat in the ring for that one.......
Gear up Joe, its time to move out darlin'........

I don't know....maybe, as I have seen some dark haired Scandinavians
I just want him to get his ducks in a row and get back in the saddle
Would love to see him don a uniform again and strap on a high powered
weapon. I see all sorts of films and think how great Joe would be in them,
e.g.
I saw Mark Wahlberg in a film Shooter which would have been perfect for
Joe........a retired snipper who gets pulled back into service but he realizes there is something just not right about it....
They had no sequel, but it sure deserved one.......

Maybe he could get a guest shot on NCIS? That would be awesome!

**nods**
NCIS, Criminal Minds, Criminal Intent.........the list is long of quality shows
not the mediocrity of that walk on in Warehouse 13
OR how about a guest on In Plain Sight?
Either someone who needs hiding or another US Marshall?

that is putting it mildly...........
Have you ever tried to watch
one of their stellar films?? They are worse than B grade.....
I don't know where they get the actors and the scripts but they
are sooooooooooooooooooo terrible........e.g. that lovely piece of
art about uranium aliens......just too much.
***rolls eyes***
I watched the first 10 minutes of it........to just see and was
not disappointed in what trash it was.........
It could be really good and I especially love their saying about
how it could not be better or some such drivel......
I always scream "Oh yes it could"

Maybe a guest shot on Eureka? It's still on? I'm sure Joe can do scientist well. Speaking of fantasy casting, how about David Nykyl as a soldier?

Ummm

Ooops, I just remembered, the fic is Rodney centric (and slash). Sorry about that, I should have done a proper check rather than relying on my memory. It is The Thing-ish though.
