Just got the movie "The Secret Life of Words" as a gift this week, and after re-watching it, I had this crazy urge to read sga fics where either Rodney or John suffers from severe burns.

McShep preferably, but it can be slash, gen or het (just say so, because I don't like all het parings out there).

I love H/C and I'm not afraid of AUs. Angst is our friend, but I prefer to cry over a fic if I have a happy ending waiting to comfort me at the end...

I don't think I have ever read a piece of ff which addresses
a badly burned McKay or Sheppard.......

I wrote a story in which Rodney burned his hands too badly to use them, though I'm not sure if youi're looking for something where the burns are more extensive! Edited to add: it's gen with a McKay and Sheppard focus.

There's one where John and Rodney are in a virtual environment that Rodney had been tinkering with, and it turns out that Carson put them in stasis after they were severely burned on a mission. Naturally, I can't think of the name of it right now, even though it fulfils all your fic requirements. It's McShep, h/c, and a happy ending.

Maybe with that description, someone can tell you the name.

Oh, and there was a fluffy white cat in the VE.

Astolat is the author. I'm blanking on the name but it's one of her really well-known ones. I'm sure a half-dozen people can pop in with the title in no time. *g*

The first place I went looking was Astolat's fic page. Then I thought, "No, it's Speranza," and dodged over to hers instead.

When will I learn to listen to my first instinct? Thank goodness you two were here to take up my slack!

Is it not allowed to post details of a qualifying story if I can't think of the name? I'd hate to break the rules of the comm.
