I'm meeeeellllttting
Aug. 18th, 2009 08:03 pmHi all,
So in case you're not on the east coast of the United States, let me fill you in.
It's hot. Freakin' hot. So freakin' hot that I seriously think I saw pavement turn to goo today.
Of course that means I need fic. :)
I saw that someone else has already gone searching for cold fics, so I'm not looking for that. Instead--
Water.
I'm looking for fics that involve the ocean, swimming pools, alien ponds, rainstorms, bathtubs. . . any water in any form, as long as it's an important part of the fic. (It's doesn't have to be the main part of the fic, however. If the story is, say, eight chapters long and Sheppard goes swimming and almost drowns in chapter two, works for me.)
Gen, het, slash, whatever. Just please let me know which is which. Even if I don't read, I'm sure others will appreciate the recs.
Thank you!
*goes back to chewing ice cubes*

Treading Water (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4085125/1/Treading_Water). Rodney has a water-related secret. Gen. Sequels available from the author's page.
Life, the Universe, and Everything (http://uraneia.livejournal.com/19961.html) involves a swim/bath scene. McKay/Keller, McShep, kidfic.
Second Fiddle (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=12954). Rodney's an assistant professor who meets a sopping wet military guy (what's with all these near-drownings of John? heh) in an alley in winter. McShep; references to character death in some universes.

Date: 2009-08-19 01:55 am (UTC)Hello fellow East Coaster! You know, I hate complaining about the heat because, well, in a couple of months I'll be here asking for desert fics to warm me up because there's a blizzard outside. But, really, when is 90 degrees ever an acceptable temperature for 7 p.m.? ;0)
Yay! Thanks for the recs! *scurries off to read*
