Hello everyone!

I've checked back a few months and could not find any similar requests. I've got a sudden craving for fics in which John is self-conscious/self-deprecating about his body (not just the mysterious area under the wristband! :-). It can be for any reason - too skinny, too hairy, scars, tattoos, alien hickeys, etc. Slash, particularly McShep preferred, but I'll read anything, so if you know of a gen/het/some other pairing story, rec away as well.

Yes, yes, insecure Shep is much needed! :-) I've managed to write a (very incredibly mildly) insecure Sheppard story once where he has an embarassing tattoo (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=2188), but I crave more extreme angst from our favorite pilot.

I also have to sorta embarrassingly point you to Fair Trade in which John is scarred from his jeep accident (and has a limp) and so is shy about Rodney's reaction when they first get together.

Hehe, we are good at cross-pimping our stories to each other! And thanks for linking me to your story - someone recced it to me recently but my comp overheated and I forgot the name of the story once it booted up again. It was very cute (especially the coffee naming!) and the scar-angst was what I was looking for! If I ever finish my longest (so far) SGA story, I'll have some sorta-scar angst as well, as in my little universe Sheppard has had a rather rough landing in the past, as I imply in this story (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=9034) (which almost turned into slash before I realized I was too wussy to write it!). (*really needs to stop shamelessly pimping her random stories* :-)

Ooh, I like the instant easiness between them, so many commonalities, and then the dip and flow of the moods as the conversation goes on, and all the unspoken stuff and the silent questions. A really terrific character piece. And of course we know what happens to both of them later, so it's a really great window. I hope you do finish your story! If you ever need a beta let me know.

There's insecurity in race_the_ace's massively long fic "Becoming Connor Davids". It's slash but John/OMC.
