I've searched the tags for angst and even abandonment but what I'm looking for specifically are McShep fics where Rodney is insecure or doubtful about his place in John's life.
I want relationship stories (happy endings would be nice too because I've had one seriously crappy and stupid week), so what I'm *not* looking for are the stories where Rodney accepts the bone of friendship a Straight!John offers his dear gay friend- unless it becomes an actual m/m relationship.

This might be a little far afield, but this is the major sub-plot of this story, Born on a Morning (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=15103). It's the fifth story in an AU series so I'm afraid it won't make much sense unless you start from the beginning, which you can find via the 'scruffy AI' link in the story information. ...Though, insecure!Rodney is pretty much a theme, come to think of it. He doesn't think John is capable of loving him in the first story, either.

I actually wrote the series (under my other name, Leah), so you'd think I'd have remembered that. But I always paid more attention to the robots.... :)
