Are there any stories where Rodney is a military scientist, rather than a civilian one? Or stories where Rodney is the soldier and John is the civilian scientist/mathematician?

I just found this one the other day: Teamwork (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=3562) by Magus Minor
It's a weird, terrific little AU where John is the mathematician who goes to Atlantis, and Rodney is a RCMP (Mounty!). Col. Sumner is still alive and John and Rodney's team are considered the dweebs. It's REALLY good. I enjoyed it muchly.
I just read a short one like this. Unfortunately, I cannot find the link, so below are the details, which pretty much spoil the entire story.
It's in Antarctica, and Weir asks O'Neill how they missed this guy; O'Neill answers back that she doesn't want him. They're talking about Rodney, who's a Sergeant or thereabouts in the Canadian military, having gone in to fund his schooling I think. He has a black mark and low rank because he tried to save his entire convoy rather than leaving the disabled part behind as ordered; they were all destroyed in a friendly fire incident. (The incident is a meta reference to a real-life one in which an American pilot fired on Canadian forces.) That and he is very good at making enemies, being himself ... but because it was a friendly fire incident, his military couldn't kick him out because it would look really bad, since publicly his actions seem heroic. Weir now knows about him because he managed to disable an armed drone inside the Antarctica base when none of the designated scientists knew where to start.
That's almost all of the story, and yet I can't find it! But the detail may remind someone else, presuming this isn't the story that sparked your search in the first place ....
Actually, huh, I did find the link myself but never updated here. Sorry about that! It's Second Chances (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/829835.html) by Mad Maudlin.
