[identity profile] featherlane.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sgarecfinders
I have a bit of an odd request. Recently, I realized that three of my all-time favorite fics feature John as a small-business owner: Junk Cheap, by [livejournal.com profile] devildoll , A Place On The Corner, by [livejournal.com profile] almostnever , and A Supermarket in California, by [livejournal.com profile] taffetablue. Any other McShep recs with John-the-laconic-proprietor and Rodney-the-verbose-customer would be much appreciated!

ETA: And, um, I guess the other thing those fics have in common is great descriptions of food, so anything in that category would also be welcome! (Sorry if a double-request breaks any rules.)

I'm not the original poster, but that's an [livejournal.com profile] anna_luna icon.

Here's another. And because I can tell that you need to look at scads of great icons, here's a link to her icon tag page: anna luna's icons

Thanks for mentioning our series. :-)

The page with all the story links is here... http://almostnever.livejournal.com/631350.html

It's funny that a friend just pointed this out to me... I'm writing another Foster's Bakery story right now. :-) So thanks again, getting a mention here is inspiring!

There was one I read where Rodney was a salt expert and owned his own store? John owned a bar or something. Anyone?

The story anonymous was talking about is the Selmelier 'verse by [livejournal.com profile] aesc. John buys and restores vintage guitars. A drabble and two stories so far. I, too, highly recommend it. The drabble is linked in the first story. Ronon owns a bar and Teyla is a vintner.

I know this is an old entry, but while I'm here... there's also [livejournal.com profile] moosebutthoney, a recently started series. John has a business selling honey, Rodney is a chef who buys from him, Ronon is part-owner of Rodney's restaurant.
