This might be an oddish request, but I'm actually looking for fics where John and Rodney have "realistic" sex. (I use quotation marks because it's a stupid choice of a word, but I can't think of a better one.) I mean, the kind of gay sex you might expect from two middle-aged men in a relationship.


For example, I love the way the sex is written in Sheafrotherdon's Iowa fis, where I guess it's closer to love-making than sex (although please no fics where either of them actually calls it "making love" :D).


But you know. Sex that could be described as boring (not bad), if it wasn't sex.

AU's or Canon setting is fine.

You should check out the Out of Bounds series by icarusancalion. It's one of those stories with a long, slow build-up to getting together. It's way AU - John's a figure skater - but somehow it really works for me.

I'm a big fan of figure skating fics, but I'm not too big on WIPs. I did read it along sometime, I might pick it up again now, though. Thanks.

Oh, yay. I was just checking out what people suggested (since I like the same sort of fic). Out Of Bounds is almost done, I'm just struggling through the last few scenes while swamped at school.

I'm not sure how 'realistic' it is--since it's never messy, awkward, or less than extremely hot--but I can usually count on Cesperanza to write reasonable sex scenes. I've never read her stuff and found myself doubting the plausibility of two men their age being capable of performing the specific act or any strange kinks that struck me as OOC or icky. (Last Will and Testament does have something kind of questionable in it, but the context made it acceptable to me.)
