McKay's family past

I'm looking for fics where John finds out that Rodney's family was a truly fucked-up affair. I'd prefer if it all came in the shape of Rodney-angst, where John suddenly understands just where so many of Rodney's issues stem from. Even better if the revelation comes after they've had a fight about something, but I'll take all scenarios.


McShep or John&Rodney-centered Gen, please.

Have you ever read any of sardonicsmiley's works (http://sardonicsmiley.livejournal.com/27429.html#cutid1)? I'd suggest the series Sophomore Slump, as well as the stand alones "How the Millers Learned to Relax ...", "Atlantis City Limits", um... actually just read all of her stuff b/c John realizes how Rodney's family has screwed him over tons of times without really placing the entire plot on it. All of her stuff is wonderful anyway.

Just read Catalysis (http://www.fantasi.net/catalysis.html) today -- John figures out some details about Rodney's messed up family life, and Rodney's in a bad place at the time, though not from a fight with John.

I think so ... it works just fine for me. (Just now tried it again, on the same device as before.) Odd. If I go to the root ( www.fantasi.net , not hyperlinking in case I'm somehow embedding something), then the "fandom" link at the upper left, "Catalysis" is the second listed story, and it goes to the same page, which has a picture at the top of what I'm presuming is the science center in Vancouver. Good luck.
