An openly LGBT person moving into Atlantis, and reactions

Are there any fics out there where someone who is openly (or just so obvious and not really hiding it) LGBT person moving into Atlantis either as part of the military or as a civilian?


Cause there was this advert for the Royal Navy on the TV and there was this obviously slashy moment between two of the people on it (says the McShepper with rose-tinted-glasses) and it got me wondering. What would it be like, how would people react (especially those from the US military) if someone from the Royal Marines/Navy/Air Force/Army came in flaming pink and hitting on anyone of the same sex that moved. And from there onto the broader idea....

But yeah, anybody know any fics that fit? The more prominant the better but I expect there wont be many where it's the main theme. Given how scarse this'll probably be I'lll read anything regardless of pairing/lack of so long as it's good.

Oh, I'd love to read something like this too. It'd be especially great if the character, knowing they were going to be stationed on a base with a large American contingent, had basically prepared themselves for a very uncomfortable working environment, and had decided to be as flaming as possible to get a sort of pre-emptive revenge (I know people who would actually do this). But when they get to Atlantis, nobody seems to care, which totally confuses and unsettles them - they keep expecting everything to suddenly go sour, but it never does.

Oooo, I third or fourth this request! Come to think of it, I'm surprised we can't immediately name a raft of fics—it's such an obvious point, given the multi-national personnel of Atlantis.

The only fics I can bring to mind are far-out AUs of McShep-on-Earth, or McShep hiding-he's-trans fics, which are toothsome enough but not really what we have a taste for here....

Here's one that fits, sorta... the minor OC Sgt. Wiener in seekergeek's 2007 SGA Big Bang fic, And All We Have. He's a military man from Germany, I believe, who hits on many of the men in Atlantis & is well-accepted (especially since he has an quick wit, easy-going sense of humor & is built like a ... well, he's built. ;-)
