Hi I was woundering if there are fic were side effect to the ATA gene Carson made would like the McKay to be the main caharcter also any fics were McKay some how looses the ATA gene and how he deals with it.

In the fic "In the City of Seven Walls" by auburn, there are negative side-effects to the gene therapy that aren't known until years after the fact. It was only hinted as a possibly until around the final chapter where it mentioned that Rodney was suffering seizures due to the gene therapy (which never got government approval to continue after Carson died).

However, the main premise of the fic is how John and Rodney deal with life in slavery and how they deal with life once they are freed. So if slavery and rape are not things that you can stand reading, then you might want to skip this fic.
