Searching for good Community Fic...

Trawled through old posts, but I didn't find anything quite like this...

I'm looking for fic about the Atlantis community as a whole, and the various politics and social networks that might form within a group of people all living together in another galaxy. I was inspired by re-watching "Sunday", with the whole "what do our beloved characters do on their day off?" premise. What happens in between the disasters? Do all the secondary characters hang on on Thursday nights and talk about the dumb stuff that SGA-1 has done recently? Turns out that Chuck is the Atlantis bridge champion? Miko is the GM for a D&D group with the microbiologists?

I'll take any pairing, het or slash (or gen!), just so long as the entire focus of the fic isn't on just one character - I want to see how the expedition interacts with one another! Bonus points for awesome characterization of seldom seen secondaries.

This is not focused on the secondary characters, but the majority of the plot is surrounding the actions of the Atlantis Local Stitch'n'Bitch chapter and a lot of them are portrayed with unique personalities/a lot of time is spent focusing on their interactions with each other and the rest of the city with relation to their group hobby. The incredibly prolific Miss Porcupine writes some of the best fanfic out there in my opinion, all about the military on Atlantis, the largest group there, some is from Lorne's perspective and some is from John's but the stars are the various Marines, medical personnel etc. Basically she gives you an incredible view of what life is like for the Marines there, day-to-day and during crises. I'll second the rec of miss_porcupine for stories focusing on the daily lives of marines (and sometimes the rest of Atlantis too). A couple of good starting points for day-to-day fic:

The Legend of Smedley Duckler, the Fighting Quacker

However, as asugar says, even her straight-up action/adventure mission stories bring in wonderful details hinting at what the larger world of Atlantis is like, and they're all great.
