Okay, I've checked all the way back through the illness tag and haven't seen this specific request, so here goes. I'm a survivor of cancer once already and am possibly facing a recurrence, so this one's kind of personally motivated - I'm looking for fics where any member of the SGA-1 team are faced with cancer (or leukemia), preferrably John or Rodney, also preferrably slash or OT4 but seriously, I'll read anything. Happy endings are also preferred (for probably obvious reasons) but hey, as long as it's written well, again I'll read anything - just please include any obvious warnings, for others who might be interested in reading. If the stories are heavy on the treatment details, showing the character dealing with chemo/radiation, etc., all the better. I know this request is a pretty specific one, but hopefully there are a few fics out there someone can point me to. Thanks in advance.

No recs, though I have to say I second this. And also wish you all the best. My Mum had malignant breast cancer, which was pretty... well, obviously not an easy experience to any of us. And there's always a chance of recurrence, so I have an inkling of how you're feeling... So yeah. Cancer fics with happy endings are something I'd definitely like to read.

Thank you. I've already lost one breast to invasive malignancy of a type that unfortunately tends to recur bilaterally and in multiple locations and now there are unidentified masses and I'm waiting on scan results and blood tests. Even knowing what I might be facing again, it's still as scary as the first time and I just feel like reading some of my favourite characters facing (and preferably beating) the same thing. Thanks again.

There's one I an think of where Rodney gets trapped in a virtual reality and it makes him think he has cancer. Argh. If I can find it, I'll post it.

There is a story that I can't find. An AU!Rodney shows up on Atlantis, older and (we find out later) has cancer. I remember that he and Our!John hook up a couple of times but then his John shows up. I have to go to bed now but I'll try to find it tomorrow. I do remember a happy ending.
