Hi all,

May I please have your recs for romantic McShep that had you in tears.  I mean actually crying from the loveliness of the fic.

Unhappy endings are fine, if there's a note of hope.

I'm just looking for the great big EMO attack.

Cheers!

The only SGA fic that's made me cry: Freedom's Just Another Word For Nothing Left To Lose (http://synecdochic.livejournal.com/61471.html) by [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic

This fic fucked me up so badly that even reading the commentary by the author makes me cry; watching the vid by the awesome Limvisible (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGYzS0qaMuQ) makes me cry; listening to the song on the vid makes me feel incredbly sad, and also, lines from the fic pop up in my mind whenever and make me feel depressed (most notably "Every year, a few more flowers bloom"). Even though it *is* a hopeful story, really.

Fics like this are the reason why I avoid fics that don't have a straightforward happy ending.

I was going to rec the same story -- because yes, I start crying right away and pretty much stay there through the whole thing -- but in spite of that it never breaks me, because it truly is a hopeful story. It puts a bunch of cracks in my heart, and then sets about mending them, slowly, one by one. I love it so very much. The podfic version is fantastic, too.

I usually try to avoid weepies, but one that made me cry that I did not see coming was a multi-media spectacular AU set during WWII in which John's a fighter pilot and Rodney is an engineer working on the planes. I don't remember the name or the author, but maybe someone else will.

Oh wait, the name is "Missed the Saturday Dance," I think.

That's a good one. The original website was taken down, but it has a new home at the OTW (http://transformativeworks.org/), though I don't see a public link for it yet and I don't have it bookmarked on this computer. Hopefully someone will chime in with it.

The entire Farm in Iowa 'verse by sheafrotherdon, but particularly Benediction and its in-comment partner. If you read Benediction, do NOT forget to read the in-comment partner. I don't want to spoil it by saying more.

Here's the link to the whole 'verse: http://sheafrotherdon.livejournal.com/105567.html
(The two I mention are listed after #9... about halfway down the page)
