Pet names

Hey, guys! Er, this is only my second time posting to this community; sorry for the awkwardness . . . and I'm not really sure what tags to put.

Um, I'm really craving stories where Rodney or John sincerely calls the other a pet name. I mean, not ridiculous and cheesy or anything, but, like--a "sweetheart" thrown in at the end of a sentence unexpectedly or something.

Or, you know what, as an addendum: how 'bout they're just plain nice to each other? Somewhere in between all the snark, one of them is genuinely sweet to the other.

I hope you get some hits with this; I would love to read stories like that, too! Sometimes a well-placed "sweetheart" or even "baby" can be very unexpectedly sweet.

I don't remember at all the name of the story because all I can remember is this one scene that flashed into my mind at your request - but maybe somebody else will remember it?

There's a story out there where at one point, John and Rodney are talking over the radios in Atlantis, and John absent-mindedly signs off with a "love you" - and then he panics for a bit when he realizes it, but nobody in the city does anything different. I remember that bit in particular, though, because I loved what it said about them that he could forget like that. ^^

If nobody here remembers it, I'll go post at the finders list, because now it's bugging *me*. Which one was that? o.O

Found it thanks to sgastoryfinders. It's Helenish's Your Inevitable Unhappy Ending (http://www.helenish.net/inevitable.shtml) But the scene I was thinking of takes place pretty much very near the end. Very cool story leading them into getting together, but the absent-minded nick-name part that you're looking for doesn't take place for awhile. ^^;; It's a seriously sweet adorable ending, though. ^^
