Don't Know Much About History

Hey gang, could you point me to some good historical McShep fiction?  Any period would be great; I just think it would be fun or interesting to view the boys through the lenses of past times, especially if they are in a relationship.  The request was inspired by reading the Pirate fic from someone's earlier request.  

I also remember reading a story where John was with the RAF and Rodney was an aeronautical engineer, but I think John died in that one; and then there was that cool one told with pics and letters where I think they ended up together in California.  And I remember one where John was a detective and Rodney was an ME and I think they got mixed up with Nazis.  So those are some of the ones I've read; I so hope you all can point me toward others!

I just re-read this one the other day, A Dangerous Desire (http://janne-d.livejournal.com/30595.html#cutid1). It's John/Rodney in a Regency romance. Nice and long (six parts)!

Well, it's not exactly historical... but I just happened to be bookmarking my fave mcshep_match fics, and this one is just freakin' brilliant. Little By Little To the Truth; or a Narrative of the Atlantis Expedition (http://community.livejournal.com/mcshep_match/36203.html) by telesilla. It's been called a Steampunk AU, and it's true, but it reads like a historical novel, and I think it's just lovely.

I'm also finding that I can never seem to just answer the prompt - I always have to put a spin on it. Hmmm. Interesting.

Oh hey - also, Joining with the Jackal Pack (http://fiercelydreamed.talkoncorners.net/main/archives/stargate-atlantis/joining-with-the-jackal-pack/) by fiercelydreamed, one of my absolute faves. Author's note: This story is framed as the central chapter from a full-length noir novel set in McCarthy-era L.A.

You should definitely check out lamardeuse's The Road to Nevada (http://lamardeuse.dreamhost.com/sg/theroadtonevada.html) which is set in 1938.
