Which McShep story hits all your buttons, and then hits them again?  Which one leaves you gaping and unable to form complete sentences?  For which fic did you post a review containing the word 'guh' and nothing else?

Responses do not need to be in the form of PWPs; sometimes the hottest stories are the ones with plot, and romantic tension.  I also ask that those who answer do so with no more than three fics.

I'll lead with Fix, by chrysothermis, the one from John's point of view.  There's something about the initial unwillingness in both John and Rodney to begin a relationship; yet Rodney's willing to help John from loyalty alone.  There's something pretty moving as well as sexy in that.  And the big reveal, when they realize that what they're doing is no longer a question of loyalty or friendship?  That gets me every time.  *g*

Its a x-over with Philp Pullman's His Dark Materials. Because of the perfection of their daemons' characterizations. Its about sex, except it isn't, its about much more than that - that probably didn't make sense, but given the lack of actual sex in the fic its astoundingly hot.

chelle is always great, & I have a particular fondness for trinity's fics (all wonderful. Besides Daemonology, there's the classic destruction of DADT fic -
DADT, Damyata, Dayadhvam & loads of other).

Oh, GOODIE. Ask and you shall receive! ETA: oh, and no more than three fics? I'm actually kind of confused by this. Is it because you want to whittle them down to the best of the best? Because that's kind of limiting for the other folks who will like this request and want to read some of them. I'm quite literally torn as to whether or not to cut my list down, as I'd compiled it in the hopes of being helpful and reccing some seriously hot fics.

How about I compromise. The first three fics are for you, the rest are for the people who, like me, are going to be refreshing this page in hopes of seeing a fic they'd forgotten about or haven't read yet.

Yup. I find that if you ask for a particular fic in any forum similar to this one, you get the good the bad and the ugly. Asking for three fics is asking people to think of what *really* moved them, not just 'oh, yeah, that fic was kinda hot, it had that scene with the thing'.

I do get that. I guess my reaction stems from the sheer number of fics I have saved that I'd recommend (and argh, detailed tag system means most of them are hidden waiting for me to file them, heh) as opposed to just saving every story that caught my fancy, if that makes sense. So picking these out of that crowd is still 'really moved me' territory. Well, that, and (to be painfully honest, here) I'd compiled the list before I saw the 'no more than three' comment and it felt like being told 'no, I don't WANT you to help me' after I'd already spent the time. I'm definitely not trying to be combative, just explaining why I might have seemed that way. In any case, do enjoy, whether or not you choose to go 'under the cut' to the rest of what I recced.

Fashion Victim is awesome, and I haven't read it in awhile. I agree that there is no earthly reason why it should be as incendiary as it is... except maybe that, no matter what, Rodney connects to John, and that John, no matter the circumstance, can't really deny him anything. :)

You've probably already read it, or at least heard of it before, but I can't believe no one's said A Farm in Iowa (http://sheafrotherdon.livejournal.com/105567.html) yet. Like you mentioned, it doesn't have to be full of porn to be completely and utterly moving.

It literally takes my breath away, many times, in each installment. My heart aches reading it because it's just so beautiful and perfect. And it's funny. Little Finn makes me laugh out loud with just about everything he does, and the way John and Rodney love him just totally wreck me. And the detail...wow. I really don't think there's a more perfect fic than A Farm in Iowa
