I'm curious what stories people have read that were so very well (ETA: or cracked-out hilariously) done that a theme that would normally squick you didn't bother you -- or at least not enough that you didn't read/or didn't enjoy the story -- in it.

The normally squicky-to-you theme could be anything -- bloodplay, mpreg, wingfic, humiliation, penguin!sex, body modification, tentacle noncon, whatever. For example, ponyplay is normally a big turnoff for me, but I saw a bunch of recs for Bucephalus by [livejournal.com profile] filenotch, and read it and found it good.

Thank you, readers!

ETA2 Wow, thanks for the responses! It's good to hear that –- as pru said in my favorite squick-what-squick "how often is he beating you?" story -- "you are not alone" (or well, that I'm not), and that there are some really good examples of pretty much anything.

Dear members and commenters,

I want to make one thing crystal clear, as it seems there's some confusion about our rules. (Which you can find on our profile page; in fact, go read them now so you'll know what I'm talking about.)

Breaking said rules while commenting anonymously is not okay. In fact, it's a bad idea. Very bad idea. It makes me angry because I immediately think it's some lj user trying to get away with it without being reprimanded or punished.

Luckily, I have an easy solution to the problem: anonymous commenting is being turned off in the community as of right now.

My good faith has been worn thin by recent trends of abusing the anonymous commenting privilege. It is now my belief that having to man-up to your words will be greatly beneficial to everyone who has found it easier to 'say' something without putting their name behind it. This is not elementary school and acting all grown-up like is greatly encouraged.

Feel free to contact me at my personal journal if you're an anonymous commenter who's been slighted by this decision and would like to change my mind over it. I'll gladly listen to your arguments and proceed from there.

P.S. Please tag your posts. Thank you! :-)
