Younger Rodney

I was just wondering if there are any fics where McKay's younger (not just yuthasised, I mean genuinely younger). I'm really looking for McShep fics mostly, though gens that aren't insanely long are okay too.

Point is, I'm not looking for fics where all the characters are younger (although I'm not picky about canonical ages, I just want all the others to be clearly adults, whether they're in their 30's or 40's), just Rodney. Bonus points if its in canon setting, with Rodney working for the SGC, either pre- or on Atlantis, and if there's stuff about young!Rodney totally putting people at the SGC in their places. However, I'll also take AUs.



I'm sorry if this is a little rambly, blame sleep-deprivation? I guess to put it simply, I'm looking for McSheps with an age difference, but not to the point where it verges on the whole daddy issue thing? Or something :D Anywhere from where he's at least 18 to early 30's.




A little bit of angst is okay, but happy endings are a must in those cases.

False Pretenses & Oblivious Rodney

Alright, so, what I'm looking for is a little more specific but I'm NOT looking for a particular fanfic.

So, slash only- preferrably McShep (my OTP), McDex or Rodney / Radek.

1) Are there any slash fics out there where someone is dared / lost a bet / etc. to spend time with Rodney / "court" him / pretend to like him as more then a friend or something along these lines where there are false pretenses. They'd eventually fall for Rodney and actually want to be with him before he finds out and wants nothing to do with them. Now, what I'm looking for doesn't have to be exactly this, but maybe something similar along the same theme? :D

2) Also, are there any fics where Rodney is oblivious (this would be one of the main themes) to someone's affection / crush / feelings (love) /  pining for him / doesn't realize he's actually dating them / a similar theme where he has no idea there's something romantic going on?

3) Or possibly a fic where he's surprisingly self-less and puts other peoples live above his own- so much so that it actually shocks his team mates and forces them to look at him in a new, more respectful way. Kind of like how it happen in the show on one of the first few episodes of season. The episode with the ancient shield device  and and the energy monster.

"Rural" McShep AUs

Hi all :) I'm looking for McKay/Sheppard AUs in rural settings - farms, ranches, and so on. I know there are a few floating around - I recently (re)read sheafrotherdon's Farm in Iowa series, but for some reason I have a strange hankering to read others too. Any help you can provide would be more than welcome ;)

Hi, first time posting here and I hope I do this right. I searched the tags and couldn't see a simular request but I'm sure at some time someone probebly has requested it.

I'm after fics which show John stretched to his emotional limit and pushed over it. Ones that take him to the point of breaking down eventually after holding himself together for others or repressing emotions etc.

Don't care if it's through injury, exhaustion, emotional abuse..whatever. I prefer het or gen, but don't mind slash if the fic shows a lead up to the relationship and doesn't just drop straight into an established slash relationship.

Elizabeth friendship fics

I just read two great fics focusing on the friendship between Elizabeth, John, and Rodney, and I wondered if there is any similar fic out there.  The fics I read were:

Be My Homeward Dove, by harriet_spy
Storm Damage, by thekatebeyond

Actually, I would be interested in any fic focusing on Elizabeth and a friendship with one or more of the Atlantis characters, but I'm most interested in friendship fic with her and Rodney and/or John.    I loved the bond between the three of them on the show.   Just friendship please, unless it's the kind where you can read it as gen if you want to.  Thanks in advance. :)

AUs, Con Artistry and Discworld

1. So, after watching sandrainthesun's awesome "Petty Theft" trailer, I'm in the mood for some con artist AUs. (I seem to recall at least a few floating around somewhere.) I'm not particularly picky on pairings; I'd prefer McKay/Sheppard, but basically anything goes.

2. I don't know how or why, but it seems like every major fandom has at least a few Discworld AU-Crossover things. (Whether that's a commentary on Pratchett's genius or fandom's high level of dorkiness, I don't know.) And that's brilliant, the world could always use more. So, same as mentioned above with the pairings; McKay/Sheppard preferred, WIPs okay, gen or het okay.
