John Brings Rodney In

I've read tons of AUs where Rodney joined the SGC - either going to Atlantis or staying in Colorado - and later meets John. He discovers John's brain and ATA gene (often through randomly-brought-home Ancient devices that John touches at opportune times) and brings him into the program. I love these stories, and there are bunches. But ... Are there stories that take the opposite tack? Where John joins up first and later brings Rodney in? The only one I can think of is custardpringle's Doctor/Patient Confidence.

If you can think of any other stories in which John goes to Atlantis or the SGC first and later recruits or discovers Rodney, please share. Gen would be okay, but my slashy little heart belongs to McShep.

Umm.... not looking for stories of a specific genre as stories with a specific element?

Stories in which Shep displays some sort of casual physical... arrogance.
Like, in The Storm/The Eye where Shep's doing a brisk far walk run to the grounding stations. And then getting rid of all teh Genii... and it all seemed so effortless.
(Unlike in Quarantine. Which seems to fit in theory. but it looked like he really to work there. And wasn't really in the best shape for this kind of thing at all. Or when he goes running with Ronon. I mean everybody looks bad compared to Ronon. Still, John doesn't need to be superman here, either.).
Something that gives off an almost primal "vibe". Not necessarily related to fighting, but it still appeals to the lizard part of our brain.


So there should be some more or less detailed description of something like that in the story somewhere. preferably with somebody watching/imagining with some appreciation. *g*



and because I'm weird like that:
stories in which people go shopping for the Pegasus galaxy (for themsevles or as a proxy the people there).
I remember reading one where Walter needs to go buy stuff for a sudden influx in children in Atlantis. He went on this huge sopping spree, buing more a than a truck full of clothes and toys.
Also there recenty read a story in which Elizabeth properly plans the expedition (like tools, just in case they didn't find any people out there and had to make their own clothes or something).
Stories like that have major elements of that. (just mentioning shortly and in passing that somebody goes on a spending spree doesn't count).

Married or Committed?

So, I was re-reading the Unified Theory series for the countless time today (love that series!) and I got to wondering if there are other "gotta read" stories or series out there where the boys are married. I know there are alot of stories where they GET married, but I'm talking about stories where they ARE married and the story focuses on them after the event.

In conjunction with that (or maybe instead) how about stories/series where they are in a committed relationship and everyone knows? I mean everyone, not just the team or their closest friends, but everyone. Not the "they're gay, that's wrong" stories, but the "it's a well-known fact that Dr. Rodney McKay and Lt. Col. John Sheppard are together and it's okay." Bonus points if Lorne's in there :)
