Hubris

Are there any stories (slash or gen preferred, but will branch out for goodness) revolving around the ancient concept of hubris, the pride so great, the gods themselves feel compelled to smack the prideful one down?

How about stories involving hubris that don't involve the events of Trinity?

Lavvyan has a scaryscaryscary one called Only With the Best of Intentions. I mean, don't read this before going to bed. Really. Rodney discovers a new use for the nanites.

In Tannhauser, by trinityofone, Rodney's hubris is all about John.

It really, really is in this fandom, exactly as if John "I can kill 60 Genii before lunch and fly anything afterward" Sheppard isn't asking for the divine smack for some of his antics! Some of Elizabeth Weir's command decisions or Carson Beckett's medical ones don't bear more than casual scrutiny, either.
