Shep + Ancient Tech = whumpy?

My brain is dead, and I am very much in need of good fanfiction. To that end... I know there has to be a ton of this type of story, so I'm hoping someone can point me toward some that I haven't read yet.

I'm looking for stories where Shep gets hurt by Ancient tech. Could be because they don't know what it does and it ends up being something bad, or because it's malfunctioning, or sabotaged, or whatever. Could even be just a more minor matter of scientists keeping him at it too long and he gets exhausted/there end up being side effects, etc.

Just a couple preferences: please no slash (unless it's preslash and/or easily read as gen), and no death or permanent maiming of canon characters. ;)

Hehe, I'm a relatively new SGA fan (got into it less than a year ago), and I've been reading the fanfic like crazy. Only I'm just reaching a point where I've exhausted a lot of the more well-known/obvious authors and recs, but I'm not yet well-versed enough to know all the good places to look. I actually did discover sheppard_hc recently, and I've been keeping up with the posts since then... but somehow it didn't occur to me to go through the archives. O.o I can be very, very slow sometimes. Heh heh, I'm even newer to lj than SGA, and I'm still really bad at finding things on here. :P LOL, anyway - thanks!
