Richard Woolsey: Corrupted
Oct. 30th, 2013 01:07 pmWoolsey makes an excellent straight man, bureaucratic stumbling block, or sometimes even figure of fun. But—okay, my first experience with Robert Picardo was this guy on stage at a convention talking with immense gravitas about Star Trek: Voyager and then, given the right prompt, bursting out into song and thoroughly enjoying himself. So I'm always kind of waiting for Woolsey's "Under the Boardwalk" moment… where the walls are dropped and you see that he's really just like them: part of Atlantis.
I'm thinking Woolsey's campaign of manipulation on Atlantis's behalf in
lilyfarfalla's Where to Start Over and How to Begin, or that scene in
mad_maudlin's The Surly Bonds of Earth where he fantasizes about feeding heads of state to Ronon putting Earth bureaucracy in the brig. Even his mostly-offscreen "please, Dr. McKay, I wrote this game" finagling in
propinquitine's The Ingenious Dr. Rodney McKay of Atlantis. Fics (or even teeny bits of fics) where Atlantis has been a Very Bad Influence on the strait-laced Richard Woolsey.
Got any of those? :)
