I'm looking for any fic where John and Rodney have retired and preferably are still on Atlantis. I don't mind if they've got kids or not, but it would be nice to see them settled in a post-Wraith Pegasus.

I love this story beyond reason. If I knew how to get in touch with the author, I'd podfic it in a second.

I have swiss cheese for brainz, otherwise I'd be thrilled to give you the title of this one, but perhaps someone else will get a ping from these details. Rodney and John have left the SGC (it may have been because of DADT) and are living in New Zealand. I don't know whether they're close to a normal retirement age, but they are older. They end up adopting kids from all over the world (IIRC) and are living very happily (and noisily) when there's a problem back on Atlantis (well, of course there is) that requires either one or both of them. They refuse to go, so (I believe) Sam pays them a visit in NZ where she's flabbergasted to see All. The. Kids. The boys finally agree they will return to Atlantis, but ONLY after a vote of the entire household.

I love the fannish hive mind. It can find just about anything - even if I got the country wrong. But, hey, they were at least in their mid 50s and sorta, kinda retired on Atlantis.

Thank you for the rescue!

One of my all-time favorites is Jam and (very likely) Jerusalem, which is retirement to whimsical domesticity in Pegasus. (With bonus art.)
