I've just been reading The Jenny Code, and I'm looking for other SGA fic with a realistic take on the military side of the expedition. Gen or John/Rodney are both great.

I'll second the above recommendations for Miss Porcupine. Some other suggestions (none of these are strictly military, but all are more about the military/operational aspects of Atlantis). Please excuse my not providing links, every time I do my posts are flagged as spam.

FYI: As I understand it, Miss Porcupine is still in the process of uploading her fic to AO3. Most everything she has is up on the DMZ. I highly recommend her writing, especially for her OCs.

For an intriguing AU but still "realistic" take on the Atlantis military, try esteefee's Almost Human. Gen, Robot!John.

I was going to recommend that one if someone else hadn't- Rock Happy is one of two WIPs which I'm actively reading (the other is Lit Gal's Airman Harris, which is SG1/BtVS and thus outside this search).

I'm really deeply involved in your storytelling; it's interesting in a way that I find little else to be, at my advanced age and state of fic ennui (I used to keep a huge rec list, including WIP updates in four fandoms, on a fandom BB and burnt most sincerely out).
