Are there any stories that reference the friend John mentions in Quarantine?

For those of you who don't remember, this is the exchange I'm talking about:

SHEPPARD: It's tough, I know. I've got a friend from college: she's a cop; three kids. She goes through this every day when she goes to work.

TEYLA: How does she make peace with herself?

SHEPPARD: Well, she figures she's fighting the bad guys, keeping ‘em off the streets, so not only is she protecting her kids, she's protecting other kids too. -Quarantine
