Whumped girls, fluffy critters, and Canada

So, I've been in and out of the hospital, so I'm looking for something either where I can vicariously wallow in this, or something that will make me laugh. So there's three things I'm interested in - and please, no earth AU's, and I'd very much prefer gen, but nothing sexually explicit regardless of genre.


1. In the "vicariously wallowing" section, I'm looking for character whump or h/c. Only, I'm looking for it to be focused on the female characters, since 99% of that genre seems to be about one (or more) of the guys. And, for this one, no slash pairings except in the background.


2. I just finished reading "My Home and Native Land" - as someone who's been declared to be an honorary Canadian (I grew up close enough to the border that I have some of the accent and there were moose in my yard and we got CBC and CTV) I found it hilarious. So, any recs for humorous Canada-centric fics would be appreciated. 



3. On a similar cheer-me-up note, anything featuring cute, fluffy animals would be absolutely lovely.
