Changing Rodney

Hello All,
I am hankering for some stories of how people who knew Rodney before Atlantis are surprised at how he has changed. Especially where it relates to him becoming more military/warrior/kick ass member of the lead team.I went back a ways, but couldn't find what I wanted. As always, Please and Thank You very much.

Maybe Remedial Leadership by Goddess47 (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=10951) where Rodney ends up the leader of the expedition after Elizabeth dies. When they regain contact with Earth, people are really surprised at how competent he was and that he wants to remain leader.

Just to warn you it's a WIP that looks like it hasn't been updated since 2007. It's still good, it just leaves you hanging.

Even more up your street is nocnoctisanima's Bright Lights and Shadows (http://atlantis-slash.livejournal.com/440325.html), which is about how Rodney appears in the eyes of one of his old colleagues. PG and gen.

Remorse (http://michelel72.livejournal.com/58758.html"), by michelel72, has a unique take on this sort of idea: people who *should* know how Rodney has changed suddenly forget. Saying much more would give away the premise, but it's like a kick to the guts. (And yet, highly recommended.)

Ladyflowdi's Eleven Moments (http://ladyflowdi.livejournal.com/385321.html) has an awesome bit where Sam realizes how much Rodney has changed.

In fact, a lot of these are about Sam, maybe because there are a lot of authors who believe she wasn't quite fair to Rodney in canon. There's one from Sam's point of view called Irony (http://trinityofone.livejournal.com/108772.html?style=mine), by trinityofone. It's AU, and the ways in which Rodney's changed aren't all so awesome.

Two fics along similar lines are girlgonemadd's Lessons (http://wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=2516&chapter=1), and rheanna27's Rewind, Reboot, Restore (http://www.goldenmaze.com/rewind.htm). In both of these, the Team has an experience with pre-Atlantis Rodney McKay. In neither case is it pretty.

Starting Over (in the same place) (http://pogrebin.livejournal.com/67215.html#cutid1) by pogrebin, is long and winding, and follows the reactions of a bunch of earthworlders to a bunch of the expedition, but there are many and sundry reactions to Rodney and how he's changed. :)
