Hobbies: Needlework (Yarn & Thread)
May. 28th, 2011 01:16 amI have a deep desire to read stories about SGA characters using their off-hours knitting, crocheting, stitching, sewing, making macramé.
The only 2 that I know (or more to the point, remember) fit this search are:
"And If You Don't Expect Too Much From Me" by sabinelagrande (starts Keller/McKay & ends McShep Pairing, w/ side-pairing of Ronon/Amelia)
"Rodney Learns to Knit" by Ferwyn (No Pairings, but background Teyla/Kanaan)
Pairings are not important (all are acceptable), but please label where applicable. Thank you!!

Date: 2011-05-28 06:41 am (UTC)I don't think Rodney actually knits, but his aunt who knitted him stuff and/or things she knitted for him feature in Knitted Goods (http://www.fantasi.net/knittedgoods.html) and its sequels by chandri mcleod. (McShep, crossover with Murder She Wrote)

Date: 2011-05-28 07:01 am (UTC)Thank you! It's not very often that I'll sit & listen to podfics (or audiobooks, mostly) because if I've read the story before listening to it (which I usually do because otherwise I can't multitask when listening to podfics / audiobooks), it makes the story really come to life for me. (I had "Rock the Boat, Baby" on near constant loop in my head & dreams for 2 weeks after listening & laughing to

Date: 2011-05-28 04:48 pm (UTC)"The only sport that aired frequently was something a lot like competitive cross-stitching, and the marines quickly lost interest, after a few optimistically-named 'game nights'; after a couple of weeks the only people still following it, so far as John could tell, were Zelenka and a couple of the biologists, who had started meeting surreptitiously and exchanging weird charts sketched on graph paper."
and another one at the end. :)
