John Sheppard, Harbringer of Death

So I was watching this incredibly well-done vid on John Sheppard and Death and it got me curious. Are there fics out there that deal with the idea of John being a bringer of death to those around him? Something supernatural like he's a being who leads people to the other side or a supernatural entity follows him bringing death? Or there's an aspect of John Sheppard that harms those around him, something genetic or inherently part of him? I flipped through the John Sheppard character tag and the supernatural:other tag and couldn't find anything.

Any slash or gen fics are more than welcome. I'm a McShepper at heart when it comes to slash, but I'm pretty open when it comes to this fic idea. Thanks, guys!

Sorry bout that. I actually tried to fix it right after posting when I noticed the goof, but I kept getting a 404 Forbidden error message in the textbox. So I figured that I didn't have the ability to edit posts. Sorry bout that. Fixed and much prettier now. :D

No problem! :-) Lj has been buggy; several folks reported the RichText mode not working for them, so that must have been the case with you too.

I'm not sure if this a strong example of what you're looking for but it definitely has the flavor of it. The Raven (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/535452.html) is a SGA fusion with His Dark Materials where John (and his daemon) are seen as harbingers of death/unlucky.

Have you checked out any of the SGA/Discworld crossovers for the physical manifestation of Death?

There's lavvyan's "High Stakes" (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=8044), where IIRC, Death follows John & Rodney around as it seems that there's a very high probability of someone dying. (McShep Pairing)

cat_latin's "Baked" (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/593209.html) has Death appearing & 'helping' John & Rodney win their bet & thereby ensuring that Death was finally able to collect some previously 'uncollectables.' (McShep Pairing)
