[identity profile] jess666666.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sgarecfinders
Hey Guys,
I was just hoping for any story with really well written and descriptive scenes were John is fighting, it can be hand-to-hand or with a weapon, I don't really care about anything else long, short, slash it doesn't matter!
P.S. this was inspired by a very similar recent post!

Some in this extremely recent request may work for you: http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/816192.html (psst, when you post here, it can be helpful to responders if you say something like "I already read the ones in this previous search and am hoping for others/more recent stories" so responders don't spend time re-reccing you stuff you just read...?)

Two recs for you:
I like the action scenes and John's James Bond-likeness (among other things) in [livejournal.com profile] astolat and [livejournal.com profile] speranza's Ordinary Life (http://www.intimations.org/fanfic/stargate/Ordinary%20Life.html). McShep, ~20,100 words

John, Rodney, Lorne, and a cool OFC fight an awesome space battle (John leads it) as just one of the well done subplots in [livejournal.com profile] shaenie's Indelible (http://archiveofourown.org/works/120496?view_full_work=true). McShep and other pairings, ~129,000 words

Also, for future reference, per this bit ("Remember to tag according to your preference that was voiced in your request, as opposed to all the possibilities you are open to — you can always undertag and later add more tags to match the genre of recs you've received.") of the comm rules (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/profile#tag), next time you post here I'd recommend adding fewer tags so the mods won't have to remove the excess ones -- thanks. :)

Hope people rec you more stories of the type you'd like to read :)

And glad I didn't come across as too cranky -- this comm and [livejournal.com profile] sgastoryfinders are both frequented by a lot of very helpful members, but the mods (and users) of both do really encourage playing by the comms' respective rules -- which I'd encourage (re)reading just before posting to either comm to make sure you're not inadvertently not following them (um, as I've done on occasion when I forgot to reread 'em or mixed up which comm I was posting to. oops.)

Morituri te Salutant (http://ras-fic.livejournal.com/6240.html) by [livejournal.com profile] ras_fic is similar to this request and to the previous one. This is the Rome!AU, John's gladiator, Rodney's senator. NC-17.

Also Public Enemies (http://paleom.livejournal.com/1284.html) by [livejournal.com profile] paleom has many descriptions of hand-to-hand combat. It's Superman/Batman/SGA fusion. John/Rodney, PG-13.

I've fixed your tags. Next time, please only add the theme tag(s) that match your request, and when in doubt you can check out similar previous requests via the tags to see what your own tagging should approximately look like. Thanks for helping keep the comm easy to navigate!
