[identity profile] needfire.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sgarecfinders
Dear all I am pretty new to this fandom and yesterday I posted a request on the com that went against the regulations. I am very sorry for any trouble or inconvenience this caused,I was given a lovely heads up and a quick how to by one of your members so I can contribute with-out any more complications.
I was looking for any fic where we see SC1 or the people on earth or in the mountain's reactions to the mission reports coming from Atlantis. I found that I am a big Rodney fan but any P.O.V would be appreaciated.
Gratefully B.

I liked The Relevant Data by [livejournal.com profile] millefiori, though it's a direct response/sequel to [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's The Wheel, Atlantis, Wars, And So On, so it won't make much sense without reading the first one.

A series I really like has SG1 go to the Pegasus Galaxy (after having no contact since the expedition since they left) and SG1 reacts to the circumstances they find. Not quite what you're searching for, but similar enough you might be interested: The Retrograde series by Martha Wilson / LtLJ

I think you already got a link to [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper's classic Whatever Can Go Wrong (http://friendshipper.laylalawlor.com/superpowers.shtml), but here's one that's not quite Earth reacting to Atlantis mission reports but to the mission: Merchandising (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/852054.html) by [livejournal.com profile] losyark.

There's also a classic but angsty one that explores the result of Atlantis sending its big databurst warning Earth about the Wraith at the end of S1: Triptych (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/561173.html) by [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin.

For this search, you may also want to check at [livejournal.com profile] stargate_search, which allows SG-1-focused searches that aren't crossovers with SGA. Even though this is a crossover request, the comm readerships don't fully overlap, so if there's a heavily SG-1 focused story with only a glancing reference to SGA mission reports, more readers there may know of it. If you decide to post there too, just be sure to read & follow the comm rules there; the lovely mods there (as well as here and at [livejournal.com profile] sgastoryfinders) do prefer that users abide by the comms' respective rules. :)

And a small self-pimp as you mention you're relatively new to the fandom: to make it easier for newer readers to find their way around some of the many wonderful resources and treasure-troves of stories this fandom has, I compiled a (Newer) SGA fic readers guide (http://skaredykat.livejournal.com/1083.html), if you'd like to take a look. Happy reading :)

Another funny one with a tiny reference to Earth's response to some of the Atlantis mission reports (in one of the footnotes): Thank you for flying Church of England. (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/588316.html) by [livejournal.com profile] someinstant

Also, an essential part of the Retrograde series (plus relevant to your search) that isn't included in the AO3 link above is When Your Job Description (You Announce Chevrons!) Is a Total Lie (http://mfsd.talkoncorners.net/fanfic/2006/09/07/14) by [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn. ;)

One more with a small reference, Planet of the Elvii (http://www.sholiofic.com/sga/elvii.shtml) by [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper: As he passed out, the thought crossed his mind that he was going to have to put "attacked by Elvis impersonators" in his official report, and he didn't look forward to explaining that to Stargate Command.

You're very welcome -- like so many of the awesome people who frequent the sgastoryfinding comms, I'm always happy to point people to more entertaining/addictive fic -- especially if it turns out they liked it! And part of the fun is the hunt for "now whose story was it that included an element of what this poster has a craving for?" :)

Found another. It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I think it's close.
