Other gate teams

Goddam it! See what happen's when I get Atlantis DVD's? It's just not fair, I'm supposed to be writing some original stuff right now and I just can't... sigh... but Atlantis will call and I shall try and heed it.

I've just read 'Coulda, woulda, shoulda' and I was wondering if there are other fics out there with a focus on other gate teams and how they cope with their own scientists, missions etc. I believe in a few fics I've read in the past Lorne was mentioned to have dr. Paris (a botanist I think) on his team. I very rarely even consider reading fics where the characters are so unknown to me, and I only really know about Lorne because of fic (I know, I know he's in the show and I should know him, but I don't, I don't even know if he has a team).

Or how about the other scientists undergoing training to join the gate teams, or the military guys trying to take an interest in what their scienctist teammate actually does in the city.

Something with well written OC's who actually seem like real people would be nice (another reason I tend not to read about OC's and the like is because more often that not they don't seem real for the world they're in). If anyone can help me I'd truly appreciate it.

Have a look at stargate_ocs :) The already mentioned Newcomers series has been posted there, along with stella_pegasi's The C.O.. There are also a few rec postings, sorted by theme. Hope you find something :)

miss_porcupine writes a lot of fic focusing on Lorne and his team of OCs. It's all gen, with clearly drawn characters and a heavy focus on military realism, although with limited military/scientific interaction, so perhaps not quite what you're looking for if that's the main thing you want. You might start with Some Assembly Required, which talks about Lorne putting his team together.
