coming out but not well-received

I'm looking for fics where any character comes out and gets a less-than-accepting reaction, especially from someone (friend, colleage, family) they thought would be okay. Happy endings not necessary. Gen, slash, femslash fine (or even het if the coming out is a major part of the story, like telling a partner they are bi).

The first one that popped to mind for you is "The Journey Home: John's Story" (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/index.php?view=fic&id=76) by puddle_of_goo. It ends up McShep Pairing, but there's a side-trip before it gets there.... and John's family doesn't receive the news too well. It's a monster of a fic with ~258,000wds.

In the Hands of Yes by Hth (http://web.archive.org/web/20070814052418/hth.gatefiction.com/handsofyes.htm) is Rodney/Ronon. Their private romantic relationship becomes public when they enter into a marriage of convenience. John seems okay with it at first but later is unsupportive, and there are fights with some of the Marines.
