I would love to read stories were Sumner survived and how he dealt with Sheppard, if they managed to respect each other, conflicts, altered outcomes. I never thought that he would be a total bastard as commander, just very strict (and on paper Shep IS a dissaster) otherwise he would not have been chosen for the expedition where dealing with the strange is a surety. But I'll take bastard!sumner as well.

Help?

I love McShep but in this case I am not picky, just happy with anything you might find for me.

Did you see this search from a few months ago (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/657379.html)? Some of the stories mentioned there are series or longer.

In that old post, no one mentioned Speaking for the Dead (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/626883.html?view=24948163#t24948163) by Kraidydragon. "Sumner knows how to work the reverse psychology angle, making Sheppard wonder if he'd ever been a drill Sergent. Maybe in a second life, perhaps? No, the whole second-life thing had officially been chucked out the window..."

Weird and very cool. Features Sumner in a very ambiguous way.

Enjoy!

I have a Sumner lived story, Nils Nisi Bonum (http://www.zonezine.net/~dossier/html/nilnisi.html) but it is a fusion with Lawrence of Arabia, so it necessarily gets a deathfic warning. I rip the bandaid off pretty quickly, though.
