Stereotypical Contradictions

Hello all! I'm looking for fics where John has a really traditionally masculine job (or is just doing something masculine) while being openly gay. Something along the lines of A Whole World of Trouble or The Neighborly Detective and the Tragic Woobie Widower .  I just want fics where John plays football on the weekend, works construction, gets oily under the hood, and kisses his boyfriend/partner at the same time. Bonus points if its well known he's gay or he surprises people by being so open about it. Goes without saying, probably, that AUs and/or future!fics are expected. Slash only, of course, with my favorite pairings being John/Rodney, John/Radek, and John/Carson. Any rating.  Thank you!

Does pilot count as stereotypically masculine? :-) In the Big Bang AU "Bridges" by busaikko (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=96), John is a pilot, ex-Air Force. He's very Johnnishly masculine and he's out. For much of the story he seems comfortable being open, but later it touches on his mixed feelings about being out. It might not be exactly what you're looking for but when I read your post it was the first thing I thought of, and it's a story I think is really well done.

I never seem to be able to carve out enough time to feel comfortable taking on a bb and then I feel awful for not reading many but I've loved everything I've read by that author and it sounds great so its going on the top of my list! Thank you!
