[identity profile] el-gilliath.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sgarecfinders
Hello folks:)

I'm looking for stories where Sheppard and McKay play Prime/Not Prime. Slash, gen, whatnot doesn't matter, I'd just like them to play the game. Any help is appreciated

I'll yield to anyone with a counterexample, but I only remember "prime/not prime" showing up in "Hot Zone" with Ford and a few different searches for Atlantis transcripts with the phrase "not prime" turned up no other hits. (I'm told that the character plan for John Sheppard was for him to be a hidden math genius, but all that made the show was solution of a few general-knowledge number puzzles (6! in the pilot, a magic squre in "Brotherhood") and his statement to Rodney that he passed the Mensa test, which could correlate to genius math skills but certainly doesn't require them.)

I'm pretty sure that John playing the game is pure fanon and him with advanced-mathematics achievements is in that fuzzy zone between canon and fanon that unrealized showrunner plans occupy.

ETA: Whoops, just noticed the comm this is in. Not sure if canon questions are permitted within searches; you might want to try [livejournal.com profile] sg_research for that part.

It's total fanon, but there are a lot of stories where Rodney and John play it nonetheless. Off the top of my head, I can only think of two, this one: http://community.livejournal.com/lovesdecided/1539.html

I've put the title under a spoiler thingy because the actual prime/not prime playing may be considered somewhat of a spoiler taken in conjunction with your request, ymmv. Highlight to read the title.) Consider the Great Wall of China(locked, you'll have to join the comm to read it, but it's worth it) and Five Lies John Told and then a Whole Lot of Truth (http://trickster.org/speranza/cesper/Lies.html). Neither of those may be exactly what you're looking for--hopefully someone else will have more.

edited to attempt to do a spoiler highlight thingy, sorry for all the editing.
