Are there any story where either John or Rodney suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (also know as Multiple Personality, or Split Personality disorder)? McShep preferably, but it can be gen...

edit: I didn't mean to cause any kind of problem in here... maybe I should have mentioned I browsed through the deranged McKay masterlist before requesting this... And even though I haven't read the whole list, I didn't seem to find exactly this kind of disorder in there...

Actually hang on, I do know one, but I haven't added it yet. It's mensa AU so it's Rod that has the condition. But it was stated that Rodney also suffered from it when he was young.

I kinda hate the fact that whenever someone requests mentally ill McKay fics, they get directed to the "deranged McKay" masterlist :/ I get it can be considered relevant to the interests, but it just bothers me.

We may get smacked by the mods for going OT, but I suspect it's because this, and several other masterlists also often recced, are fairly comprehensive. So unless a requester specifically says "I've already read everything on the ... masterlist, please rec me some new/different ones" it's a great place to point someone less familiar with classics-of-a-genre to so they can quickly see a bunch of fics they might like.

And HOW I forgot 3 + 1 = 2?? I've read this before. Not exactly what I was expecting when I requested this genre (light and borderline cracky)... but it was nice to re-read it...

I browsed through the Deranged Masterlist... My ideal fic would be a "OMG! They broke John/Rodney" but there aren't any where they're broken this particular way... =/

Eh, I suspect most requesters don't think to say it, which is why readers trying to be helpful -- and I'm so guilty! as a newbie discovering those lists made quickly finding good/crazy/interesting stuff to read so much easier, so of course I like to rec them on -- keep pointing at them... :)

Actually I do know at least one that fits the bill perfectly.

In Light and Shade (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2712064/1/Light_and_Shade) Rodney is captured and brainwashed by some lord, who collects damaged or unhappy people. It creates an artificial multiple personality.

The puppet master (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2332227/1/). I seem to have it falsely advertised as schizophrenia, but he gets another consciousness stuck in his head.

Infinity (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=3124&chapter=2) might sort of fit. He experiences the entire Multiverse and afterwards can't figure out which Rodney he is.

Never would have guessed Multiple Personality on those on the list (the puppet master and Infinity)... I'll read all that masterlist one day, for sure... XD

There aren't enough afflicted John in the world... it's always Rodney the one suffering from mental disorders (and possessions..) =P
Though these days I'm really into disorder (specially trauma caused, but chooser can't be picky), I'll save your rec for ASAP... XD

If AU-travel-caused personality mergings are okay, then toft_froggy's All These Places We Have Met (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/565739.html) has John trying to follow his Rodney's consciousness through a series of increasingly grim AUs to try to get him back home/out of the wrong Rodney-body....
