John leaves Atlantis

Hi all,

I'm looking for stories wherein John leaves Atlantis for something personal back on Earth. There are tons of stories where Rodney goes back to Earth to take care of Jeannie/Madison/whomever and I think I read one 'John returns to Earth to take over the family business' but I was wondering if there were any more along that line out there. Maybe not the family business but something else. I'm not even really sure what there could be, but maybe someone out there does?

Slash is must or at least gen (no het please) and the longer the better. I'm not too big on kids, but I'll take it if that's what's out there.

Props if it has Rodney chasing after John back to Earth, or someone else (Radek, Ronon, Lorne, Cam, whoever).

I've got a good one for you, although John didn't voluntarily leave Atlantis. No more details 'cause I don't want to spoil it but it is very much worth reading.

These are not exactly what you're looking for, but it's close? It's a start, anyway.

In the What Happens Next (http://bluflamingo.livejournal.com/tag/what+happens+next) verse by bluflamingo John moves back to earth and in with Cam because he's unexpectedly become a father, and he doesn't want to raise his kid in Atlantis. You're a bit weary about kidfics, which is understandable; I am too, but this story is totally worth it.

In Never Going Home (http://bluflamingo.livejournal.com/tag/never+going+home), also by bluflamingo, John is forced to leave Atlantis, and eventually Rodney follows him.

That's What I Think (When I Think About You) (http://community.livejournal.com/mcsmooch/123506.html) by busaikko and its two prequels. John leaves Atlantis due to medical reasons. Rodney goes with him.

I don't know i it's online or even what your looking for but in one of the surfacing zines there is a story called "Slither" where John returns to Earth because Rodney went back to save John's carreer and he follows him to Mexico and moves in after retiring.

it's not really what you want, but it involves both John and Rodney returning to Earth for a while in exchange for Daniel and Sam going to Atlantis, has a Jack/Rodney pairing
