McShep - non-con progressing to con

Hello all!

Just made my way through a Marriage of Inconvinence by Kat Reitz and Tzigane, but I just couldn't get into it.  I was wondering if some people could suggest McShep fics of the genre relating to non-con turning into con ... but one where I don't end up disrespecting both characters.  Does such a fic exist?  (using the tags didn't really find me anything)

So to clarify: looking for a fic where either John or Rodney are complete bastards - there may be non-con sex, or just a really bad attitude.  But eventually through some kind of well-written story they both end up happily together.  I'm assuming this may be an AU, or it may be an amnesia fic, or possible just a really well written sga story.  

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The Spare - http://mediafans.org/rachael/sga/atlantis_thespare.html - is also a little bit like that. Rodney's forced to marry john for political reasons and john slowly wins him over, and vice versa.

frostfire_17's The Hostage Major (http://frostfire.killerstar.net/stories/hostagemajor.html) kind of sort of fits the bill. AU where Rodney kidnaps John and holds him prisoner, only it's not quite as evil as it sounds, so maybe not "complete bastards" enough for you.

That is a great story - wonderfully written because yeah, you have no idea what's going on at first. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but definately worth a re-read all the same. Thanks for the link!

Sorry for your trouble with the tags, but I double checked and as a member of this comm you should be able to add existing tags to your posts (go here => http://www.livejournal.com/edittags.bml?journal=sgagenrefinders&itemid=52816 i.e. click on the "Tag" button at the top of your post's page and you should get a list of tags to choose from). You cannot add your own/self-made tags or delete already added tags (I think); only us admins can do that.

I agree with your view the story mentioned above; have you tried reading "Love's Tangled Web" by msgordo2? It's a WIP, 8+ parts in her journal, I've only started reading it and am fairly sure it never got to the happily-ever-after part, but it's a different take on plot of "Marriage of Inconvenience", so. Um. You might want to try it as well?

Also, how do you feel about Aliens-or-the-Like Made Them Do It Even Though They Didn't Really Want To type stories? The best I can think of is Foolproof And Incapable Of Error (http://neery.livejournal.com/25781.html) by neery, in which an overzealous AI reads John's mind and blackmails/forces Rodney to play out John unvoiced desires (i.e. sleep with him). It's not exactly the type of story you wanted, but if you haven't read it yet, which I doubt ^.^ , it's a must.

I'm a brand-new member of this community, so it may be that lj just needed a few more minutes of processing time to let me change the tags. I'll go see if I can edit them now :)
