What with Remembrance Day coming up and reading "long ago (and far away)", I'm looking for wartime (WWI, WWII, Korean) AU's. Anything and everything would be greatly appreciated.
Although set immediately after WWII, I'd highly recommend Liminal by viva_gloria, which can be found here: http://www.alyse.info/sesa_files/liminal.htm In this story, the atmosphere in England just after the war is tangible, the characters fit in beautifully.
Kristen999 is just posting a WWII gen-story in her LJ that was co-written by her and everybetty. It's posted in parts three times a week since it's of epic length and has a lot of illustrating pictures. The story itself is finished and they're up to part 7 right now:
There's also "Enigma" by sgamadison. It's slash and the story that frames the WWII part takes place in a canonical setting. First part of it is here: http://sgamadison.livejournal.com/4729.html#cutid1
This year's McShep match also had an entry that fits the bill: "Something to Remember You By" by Hestia Lacy. A bittersweet story but it *does* have a (very late) happy end.
