Rodney's med school background

Okay, so unless I'm mixing up canon and fanon, Rodney went to med school for a while, didn't he? And he dropped out because it was making him (even more) hypochondriac?

I'm sure Rodney would've ended up as House 2.0 if he'd actually graduated, so I'm wondering.

Are there any fics that in any way deal with Rodney's med school background? Either having it pop up during a conversation in canon setting, or complete AU where Rodney's a med student or maybe even a doctor? Anything that plays with the angle of med.school!McKay.

Son of ETA: Okay I *didn't* hallucinate it, Rodney did indeed study medical science for a short while. According to Wiki it was stated in the Brotherhood, but I can't find the exact quote. Here's what Wiki says: "He studied medical science at one time, but stopped because too much information on the human body made him start to diagnose himself with many phantom diseases."

I think he said something like reading some medicine textbooks and then imagine every sickness there is, so he could never do medschool. But don't ask me for the exact quote.

It's when Doakes is getting suspicious in season 2. He says something about how Dexter was at the top of his class in med school before he dropped out, and why is he doing forensics now? I don't know if it's ever been made anything of besides that.

Wow, you have a great trivia memory :D Strange for Dexter to even go to med school thoughl considering the issues he has with blood.

(Then again, in the TV show the whole blood thing was played down a bit, in the books his hatred for seeing blod was much more prominent. Because of the fact that he had to sit in a pool of his Mum's blood for days. In the first(?) book he practically went into hysterics when he slipped and fell into a puddle of blood.)
