McShep against them all

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for McShep, where they make a choice (in order to protect Pegasus, one another, their team mates, etc.) that leaves them at odds with Earth or even the rest of the Atlantis expedition. Since reading Speranza's brilliant fic Written by the Victors (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/cesper/Victors.html), I can't help but crave fics in that genre. Happy endings preferable, as I'm a terriby sappy person when it comes to fanfiction.

Not a perfect match to your request but this was one of my earliest favorites in SGA: I Feel the Earth Move (http://janusglance.livejournal.com/306285.html") by janusglance.

It's John/Rodney friendship, not slash, but it was still satisfying to me as a devoted slash fan. The plot and characterization all let me believe that they *would* be in a relationship, if they had a nanosecond of attention to spare from the dire situation Atlantis is in.

Also, the ending is bittersweet, not purely happy. But I still think it's an awesome story!
