sensory loss?

I'm looking for stories in which either John or Rodney are temporarily or permanently deaf or blind. Long enough for it to be central enough for the story to be dealt with as a disability fic though rather than just h/c, e.g. not just things like temporary hearing loss due to a loud explosion that goes away soon or snow blindness for example. The ones I've already read are:

The Rain Gods by seperis (blind John)

Scenes From An Unseen Life by Delilah (blind Rodney)

Do you know of any others? I'm flexible wrt to pairings or lack thereof, i.e. gen, het,and slash is all fine.

Does Rodney losing his ability to speak count? I'm singling this story out 'cause it hit a wonderful nerve in me, even if it's pretty h/c:

Also, there's this good rec site with disability fics... Huh. Turns out, there's two.

Disability in Fanfiction - SGA (and Sentinel) (http://www.familie3.com/disability_in_fanfiction/sentinel_stargate.html) (scrool down to SGA, both times) which groups the fics by disability, then fandom.

And then there's the good ol' Disability Fanfic - SGA (http://www.geocities.com/disability_fanfic/stargateatlantis.html) which has a more detailed table with disability, character affected, genre and notes beside the title and author.

Thanks for those links. I've read that one and some others with mute!Rodney, but I wasn't looking for those.

That disability thematic list is handy! It list doesn't seem to distinguish between short and long term injuries (I've already read some on that list that are just an infirmary stay long sensory loss), but I'll check those I haven't read out.

I think it might be what your looking for. It's John blindness and though he's told it's temporary, it doesn't end up that way. Very fascinating as it's all from his POV.
