Hi, I'm looking for stories where the team, preferably with Sheppard in the lead, make heavy military decisions, like in Ardanarishvara by Auburn - with the burning of the Skour fields, or Trancendental by Resonant - with the Genii situation. Any category welcome, though I tend to read mainly slash, as long as you feel the subject matter is treated with responsibility and professionalism, and the characters are believable.
Tall order? In this incredible fandom I think not... Hope you have something for me.

Have you read Crimes Against Humanity (http://seperis.illuminatedtext.com/sga/humanity.html)?

There's a little of that in Bring the Beat Back (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_genficathon/51287.html), which is gen, but it's not all that badass; it's more the first-year team adjusting to each other while trying to rescue Sheppard. About 3k words.

What about Miss Porcupine? She writes great military-themed fic; its gen though, rather than McShep. I'm not sure if its what you are looking for - lots of her fic is about the working relationships within the military, rather than actual conflict.

Her site is here: http://www.offpanel.net/dmz/sga.html If you click on the years you'll get pages with short summaries of the stories. Maybe start with The Jenny Code for a combat based story? Or Self Made - its a haunting fic about Sheppard's journey home from Afghanistan, but perhaps isn't the sort of epic fic you are looking for.
